Jonathan qualified in 1980 and became a Partner in 1985. With over 25 years experience of every kind of Employment law dispute, Jonathan, based in our Stockport office, is a Judge at Employment Tribunals and is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association. He is a qualified commercial law mediator and an employment law expert on the Law Society Negligence Panel. Jonathan also lectures regularly all over the country on all aspects of employment law and is recognised by Chambers UK (a Client’s Guide to the UK legal profession) and the Legal 500 as a leading individual in Employment Law.
Jonathan enjoys hill walking, cookery, gardening, golf and tennis and keeps koi carp.

Mark qualified in 1977 having been educated at Stockport Grammar School and then at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge. Mark became a partner in 1981 having joined in 1980 after which he was sponsored by the firm when he obtained a Masters Degree in Advanced Litigation. As a Member of the Employment Law Association, Mark, based at our Macclesfield office, is highly regarded as an expert in all areas of contentious and non-contentious work.
Mark enjoys a variety of sports, reading, gardening, the arts and travelling.

John has spent the greater part of his legal career dealing with court work and has over 10 years experience specialising in Employment Law. Recognised by Chambers UK (a Client’s Guide to the UK legal profession) and the Legal 500 as a leading individual in Employment Law, his reputation is as a successful and tenacious advocate, qualities which he adds to a Liverpudlian sense of humour. John qualified in 1995 and became a partner in 1999. He is a a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and regularly present seminars to clients on the practical steps that can be taken to avoid employment tribunal claims. John was responsible for the creation and success of sas protect and is the Employment Law Department Manager.
When not in the office John enjoys spending time with his family, watching Everton play football and occasionally he can be found on the golf course.
Louise Tobin

Louise qualified as a solicitor in 1998 and joined SAS Daniels LLP employment department as a Partner in November 2009 bringing with her a wide range of experience having acted for individuals, private businesses and public sector/not for profit employers.
She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and specialises in executive terminations, the employment aspects of corporate transactions, restrictive covenants and equal pay litigation. Louise, who will be based in our Stockport office is also an experienced tribunal advocate.
In her spare time Louise enjoys spending time under canvas and is a fair weather Manchester City fan!

Karen is an Associate at the firm and became a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 2006. Karen not only has qualifications in Employment law, business and finance, but has also brought to the firm a wide range of business and management experience gained in finance, engineering and computer networks over a career spanning 16 years.

Helen joined the firm with extensive experience in employment law and human resources in both the commercial and public sectors. Helen graduated with a Law Degree from the University of Sheffield in 1998 and is an Associate Solicitor. Helen also holds a Masters degree in Employment law from the University of Central Lancashire, which combined with a meticulous attention to detail, means first class advice for all of her clients.
Helen enjoys acting, singing, playing and watching football, watching films, shopping and eating out.
Victoria Riley

Victoria Riley joined the firm in February 2008 having spent 4 years advising a range of Companies on all matters concerning Employment Law. Victoria is currently undertaking an MA in Human Resource Management due to finish in 2010 giving her CIPD membership which gives her a greater understanding of both employment law and day to day HR issues.
In her spare time Victoria plays the euphonium and enjoys going to the gym.

James joined the firm in September 2007 following the completion of his LLB Law Degree and Legal Practice Course at Staffordshire University. He qualified into our Employment department in September 2009 and has gained vast experience in advising both private and commercial clients on a broad range of employment law issues.
In his spare time James enjoys playing golf, football and tennis as well as shooting and motor sports. During his university days he was in a band and supported groups such as Shed Seven and Kasabian before favouring a career in the legal profession. James is an avid Stoke City supporter and enjoys watching them compete in the Premier League.
Laura Mellor

Laura qualified as a solicitor into the employment department of SAS Daniels LLP in February 2010. Prior to qualifying, Laura worked as an employment paralegal for 18 months, advising individuals, commercial clients and public sector employers.
Laura specialises in a broad range of employment issues including dismissals, discrimination, contractual matters, equal pay litigation and employment aspects of corporate transactions.
Laura has a keen interest in sport and enjoys playing netball, going to the gym and watching football. Laura also enjoys traveling, eating out and socialising.
Gavin Redman

Gavin joined the company in 2003 as Business Development Manager, moving to Client Development Manager in 2010. Gavin now looks after client development across the firm as well as working alongside our Employment team having taken sasprotect – our employment law protection solution – from inception to the market place.
In his spare time he has become a qualified FA referee and is also an official on the British Rally Championships. Having also worked for some years in the catering industry, Gavin is a keen chef and is always ready to give advice on any culinary problems encountered by SAS Daniels LLP employees.
